1Who we are
This extension is published by SearchAll (searchall.net). In this policy, "the extension" means SearchAll Plus - Context Menu MultiSearch. Contact: searchall.net/contact.
2What the extension does
The extension lets you search text on several search engines and websites from the right-click menu, the toolbar popup, and an optional search bar shown at the top of a page when you right-click. You can add your own search engines. Optionally, it can open the SearchAll Plus page in new tabs.
3Data we collect
None. The extension has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no crash reporting and no server of its own that receives your data. We do not receive your searches, browsing history, page content, selected text or settings.
4Data stored in your browser
The extension saves only the following settings, using the browser's extension storage (storage.sync):
| Setting | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Search engines you add (name, link, and whether to open results in a popup window) | To show them in the right-click menu and popup |
| Which built-in engines you switched off | To hide them in the menu and popup |
| "Open SearchAll Plus in every new tab" on/off | To apply that option |
| "Show search bar on right-click" on/off | To apply that option |
| "Show Share in the right-click menu" on/off, and the order of your search bars | To apply that option and keep your order |
If you are signed in to your browser account and sync is on, your browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Firefox) may sync these settings across your devices. That sync is run by the browser vendor under its own privacy policy, not by us. Please do not put personal information or secret tokens in the names or links of custom search engines. You can delete all settings by removing the extension.
5When text leaves your browser
The extension sends text only after you act: you click an engine in the right-click menu, press Search in the popup, or press Search in the on-page bar. At that moment the text you selected or typed is placed in the link of the engine you chose, and that page opens in a new tab or popup window. The text therefore goes to that website (for example Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Dictionary.com, Google Translate, or SearchAll) and is handled under that website's own privacy policy. Search engines you add yourself are third parties we do not control. The extension does not send this text anywhere else and does not keep a copy.
Search shortcut on searchall.net. If you use a button on a searchall.net page that sends your question to another website (for example an AI chat site or an encyclopedia), that website opens with your text in the part of its address after the # sign. Your browser never sends that part to the website's server. If you arrived from a searchall.net page, the extension removes the text from the address bar straight away and types it into the website's search or message box. On some buttons it also presses that website's search or send button for you. The extension checks which page you came from, so the same kind of link on any other website does nothing. The text is not sent to us, is not stored by the extension, and the extension does not read the page or the conversation.
Share buttons. When you press a share button in the popup, or choose "Share this page or link" in the right-click menu, the web address you chose (and, from the popup, the title of the page you are on) is put into that network's share link, and the link opens in a popup window. From then on that network's own privacy policy applies. The extension does not send the address anywhere else and does not keep a copy. The popup reads the address and title of your current page only when you click the extension icon.
Address-bar shortcut. If you type ss, press Tab (or Space in Firefox) and then type words in the address bar, your browser gives those words to the extension only when you press Enter. The extension puts them into a searchall.net multi-search link and opens it. It does not keep them.
Welcome page. Right after you first install the extension, it opens one welcome page on searchall.net, once. The extension sends nothing with that visit and opens no further pages by itself.
6How the extension uses its permissions
| Permission | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
contextMenus | To add the "Search for ..." entry and the list of engines to the right-click menu. |
storage | To save the settings listed in section 4. |
activeTab | Lets the popup read the address and title of the page you are on, only at the moment you click the extension icon, to pre-fill the Share box. It gives no standing access to your tabs. |
tabs (optional) | Not requested at install. Your browser asks for it only if you turn on "Open SearchAll Plus in every new tab", so the extension can recognise the browser's new tab page. Tab addresses are used on the spot and are never stored or sent. If you turn the option off, the extension no longer uses it. |
| Access to all websites (content script) | To show the optional search bar when you right-click on any page and to fill it with the text you selected. The script does not read, collect, change or transmit page content. A second script does something only when you arrived from a searchall.net shortcut button (it checks the page you came from): it types the text you searched into that page's search or message box. On searchall.net pages only, a small style file lets the page show whether the extension is on. |
7No sale, sharing or secondary use
We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties, and we do not use or transfer it for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose of searching, for creditworthiness or lending, or for advertising. No humans read your data, because we never receive it. The extension's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
8Remote code
The extension runs only the code packaged inside it. It does not load or run code from the internet.
9Children
The extension is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
10Security
Because we hold no user data, there is nothing on our side to leak. Settings stay in your browser's protected extension storage. Web pages you open from the extension use HTTPS where the target site supports it.
11Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date. If a change affects how data is handled, we will also note it in the extension's store listing.
