Extension Page

Welcome! Here is everything it can do.

Select text, right-click, search anywhere. This one-page tour shows each feature and exactly how to use it. It takes about two minutes.

Step 1: pin it to your toolbar

One click on the icon opens the search popup. Pin it so it is always there.

  1. Click the puzzle-piece icon (Extensions) at the top right.
  2. Find SearchAll Plus and click the pin icon beside it.
  3. The SearchAll Plus icon now stays in your toolbar.

Do this once: reload any tabs that were already open before you installed. The right-click search bar only appears on pages loaded after installing.

Step 2: take the tour

Pick a topic. Everything stays on this page.

  1. Select a word, phrase or question on any web page.
  2. Right-click it and open Search for "...".
  3. Pick an engine. Results open in a new tab. Dictionary and Google Translate open in a popup window sized at 75% of your browser's width and 70% of its height.
The menu lists, in order: Google AI Mode, SearchAll Multi Search, Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, Baidu, Dictionary and Google Translate, plus any engine you add. You choose the order in the popup.
Try it now: select the word serendipity in this sentence, right-click it, and choose Dictionary.

Right-click search bar: right-click anywhere on a page and a clean search bar slides in at the top, filled with whatever you selected. Press Enter to search SearchAll Multi Search. Close it with the ✕ or Esc. You can switch it off in Settings.

The word serendipity means finding something good by chance.

Add any website that has a search box. Example: YouTube.

  1. Go to the website and search for the word SEARCHER.
  2. Copy the complete address of the results page, including https://. For YouTube it looks like https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=SEARCHER.
  3. Click the SearchAll Plus icon, then + Add (or open Settings).
  4. Type a Site Name (YouTube) and paste the address in Link.
  5. Optional: tick Open results in a popup window for sites you'd like in a small window.
  6. Press Add search engine. It now appears in the popup and in the right-click menu.
Remove an engine you added with the ✕ beside its name. Built-in engines can be switched off in Settings, but not deleted. The link must contain SEARCHER and start with http:// or https://, or the extension will tell you what to fix.

  1. Click the browser's address bar and type ss.
  2. Press Tab (Chrome and Edge) or Space (Firefox). The address bar switches to "Search SearchAll Multi Search".
  3. Type what you want to find and press Enter.

You land on SearchAll's multi-search page with your words already searched. In Chrome and Edge, Alt+Enter opens it in a new tab instead.

The shortcut works from any tab, even on pages that block extensions. Only the words you type after ss are used, and only when you press Enter.

Click the SearchAll Plus icon, then the ⚙ button.

  1. Switch any engine on or off. Off engines disappear from the popup and the menu.
  2. Right-click search bar: show or hide the bar at the top of the page.
  3. Share menu: show or hide "Share this page or link" in the right-click menu.
  4. New tab: open searchall.net/searchplus in every new tab. Your browser will ask permission to see tab addresses (worded "read your browsing history") so the extension can tell a new tab from other tabs. It is only asked when you turn this on, and refusing leaves it off.
Tips. The right-click bar is blocked on browser pages (chrome://, add-on stores). In Firefox, if the bar does nothing, open Settings and press Allow on all sites. For private windows, allow the extension there: Chrome and Edge, Extensions → Details → Allow in Incognito / InPrivate; Firefox, Add-ons → SearchAll Plus → Run in Private Windows.
